Day 23: Favorite Movie

I have a feeling that whoever made this 30 day Challenge got lazy seeing as how they repeated a day.  But none the less, I’m excited to tell you AGAIN about my favorite movie, and maybe convince you to watch it if you haven’t already.

There are very few moments that change my life and seldom movies, but this movie changed my life.  It taught me so much about pursuing my passions and that which is important to me.  It may have added to my unrelenting love of Amir Khan as well!

This movie was so wonderfully crafted and even a little bit elegant in its plot design and structure.  And seeing as how I love bollywood movies, I ate up every second of this one.

Life is too short to let the opinions of other dictate what you want to do.  And this movie taught me that a million different ways.  It’s funny, charming and a feel good movie that never loses its class.

Day 21: Favorite Picture of yourself ALL TIME Why?

I love this picture so much and for so many different reasons.  One because it’s a picture of me and my brother.  Trying to get a picture with my brother can sometimes feel like THE hardest thing to do in the entire world.  But he took this with me.

I also love the fact that I was drenched right before this picture and was walking around in wet clothes dried by the sun.  I straightened my hair but went down a  water slide and I thought that my hair would be super frizzy and disgusting in this picture.  I was certain that I looked horrible that day.  But I got this picture emailed to me and I loved it.

I love that my hair is straight and then rolls into curls.  I love the fact that I’m smiling with my teeth.  I love that my brother and I look like we’re at the premiere for a Veggie tales movie and that even the back decorations look epic.  Even that my brother is looking up and that I’m looking straight at the lens.  I love it all.  Even the filter added to it.  And every single time I look at this picture I smile.

Day 11: Favorite tv shows

Hello my lovely readers!  Today is June 21, hence the meaning of six: twenty one, I commented earlier on that the name of my blog didn’t really have meaning outside of my birthday, but it does.  Today is the first day of summer, as well as the longest day of the year.  That really means something.

Now unto what I want to post about today, some of my favorite television shows in no particular order.  Most of them are guilty pleasures.

Where do I even begin?  I think a part of me like this show just because it feels like a nicer version of Degrassi.  Everyone looks pristine and manicured at all times, and the stories are always juicy.

Arrested Development

This is just one of those shows that you come across very few times in a lifetime.  It’s hilarious, cute and always a short watch usually spanning 20 minute episodes.  I can sit and watch seasons at a time and love every minute of it.

Royal Pains

I started watching this with my brother and this is a show that is so carefully crafted and holds such an amazing story line.  I almost want to change my major whenever I watch it.  The characters are real and this makes them loveable.

Make it or Break it

This is one of the shows that not too many people know about, but it crazy good!  The story line is rich, the characters real, and is watching this show is always one of my favorite things to do.  There are some corny parts, but I sit through it for the good parts.

Day 9: A favorite picture of your best friend

I feel a little bit guilty writing right now.  For one I have a bunch of Calculus that is waiting to get done, and two, its technically not day 9 for 1 hour and 8 minutes.  But I’ve been literally itching to write this post for a long time and I want to give it the tender love and attention it deserves.  So I’m taking a study break, or procrastinating.  But it’s for a good cause.

My love language is quality time, and those closest to me have always been willing to give me the one thing that matters most to me in the entire world.  Their time.  Think about it, what can really matter more?  Time is the one thing you can never get more of, so if someone is willing to give me their time?  Well I don’t intend on wasting there’s.  On the other hand, I almost always cannot stand people who bail on me.  I actually count strikes if you cancel within the hour, its so bad.  I understand if you give me 24 hours…and if you happen to be lazy, but within the hour?  Come on now.

I’d highly recommend taking this quiz, not only is it actually really fun, but you can learn so much about yourself in the process.

You’re about to meet some of my best friends in the order of when I met them in my life.  I know you’re only supposed to have one best friend, but I don’t really care.  There are too many people to love in the world to put a limit on who I like.  And who really made that rule anyway?

1.  Sherin

I can’t think of a time in my life where Sherin wasn’t around and I find that really scary because I really can’t imagine my life without her.  She was the first person who slept over my house, and her house was probably where I spent most of my childhood.  My brother and her used to play this insane games where the vacuum cleaner was this evil monster we would have to outrun.  We had the time of our lives.  If you need something done, and done right, you ask Sherin to do it.  You won’t find someone more passionate and driven anywhere else.

2.  Christine

Christine was around since I was almost 4 but we didn’t become friends until we were 12 and best friends until even much longer later.  She’s a treasure.  And I mean this, not a lot of people can see it unless they take the time to know her.  But she’s so incredibly funny and beautiful.  I feel like being around her makes me funnier and makes me a better person.  She is the one person I can count on in any situation, and the one person I know will always be there in my life.  Because you don’t lose friends like this.  We’re opposites, but that’s why we get along so well.  I think she hates this picture, but I don’t know why.  She’s rocking that sari!

3.  Anitha

I choose two pictures because I couldn’t pick.  And also Anitha literally has thousands of pictures of herself, I was not about to narrow it down to just one picture.  Plus the second picture has my love Vinnie, and the first picture has Steena!  (I don’t actually know Steena but I love her because Anitha loves her) We met in college and ever since we’ve been inseparable.  She’s the reason why I love taking pictures even more and she never ceases to make me laugh.    We can’t go too long without seeing each other, that would be crazy.  And Anitha is really one of the most beautiful people I know.  I don’t just mean her outside appearance, anyone can see she’s physically beautiful, but it takes something much more special to be a beautiful person.  And she is just that.  I’m just really blessed to have her in my life.

4. Catherine

If there is one reason why I’m happy that I chose to dorm freshman year of college, it is this girl.  We bonded over this love of Arrested Development and since then we’ve been best friends.  Catherine is the sweetest girl I’ve ever met, and the one person I know not to hold a grudge.  She’s always open to new things and when I need her, she’s always there for me.  I can’t thank her enough for that.  Even when I don’t deserve it, she’s there for me.  One thing I’ve always loved about her is the fact that she’s always open to new experiences and new things.  Plus she’s pretty amazing at karaoke and jam sessions aren’t the same without her playing the guitar that I never use.  She accepts me as I am, and I love her for that.

So those are some of the most important people to me in my life.  I hope you can see why i love them so much.  🙂

Day 7: Favorite Movies

This was actually one of the posts I was least looking forward to writing about because I’m usually really picky about movies.  I never see movies when they actually come out in theaters.  The way I see it, I can get the book for free in the library and its twice as good!  I know, I’m so brown it’s bad.  But I’m the type of person who’s willing to spend money, but if its a crazy good deal to me in my mind.  $16 for a 2 hour movie?  Pshh read a book and get HOURS of entertainment for free!

But there are some movies I love and here they are listed below in no particular order:

Never been kissed

I love this movie SO very much and for so many reasons. For one, its basically the dream for any girl.  Go back to school a couple of years later, be insanely popular and get your teacher to fall in love with you.  JK that’s actually kind of crazy, but she somehow makes it cute.  This movie is incredibly simple and intricate and that’s what makes it beautiful. Josie is the girl everyone wants to win, she’s the girl who’s always lost and that’s what makes this movie amazing to me.

2.  The Little Mermaid

This is such a classic and I don’t think anything can really compete.  I always wanted to be Ariel when I was younger because she was the prettiest princess and she could sing.  Plus mermaids get to wear swim suits year round.  I now realize that being some what of a feminist a lot of the ideas on this movie belittle women…but I don’t care!  I love this movie because it was the first movie I ever saw.

3.  Slumdog millionaire

LOL I AM LIKE EVERY BROWN PERSON ALIVE.  And I will not deny that I cried like a baby for the entirety of this movie.  It was SO very good and I couldn’t help myself.  I will, however, not answer anyone else who asks me if India is really like this movie.  And I could care less if you want to “save ALL the slumdogs of India”!

4.  Three Idiots

“Pursue excellence and success will follow”

This movies is actually one of the few movies that changed my life.  I want to meet Amir Khan one day to tell him that he is fact AMAZING and that he made me proud of going for business and not medicine.  And if he wants to marry me because of my fantastic personality and glowing smile, it’s icing.  (Please don’t take me serious, not even a little bit, I’m not THIS insane) This movie helped me realize that being my best was so much more important than being the best and that everyone is unique and talented in their own way.
